Family Vacation 2022 Day 12: Interpretive Center and Salt Flats

The California Trail Interpretive Center made for a neat stop. Everything was really well done and FREE! Outside are several sculptures and old wagons set out as though they're making camp for the day.

The interior offers tons of displays and information about the trip West. We spent longer here than we thought we would and really enjoyed it.

 

We'd visited the salt flats during a previous trip, but decided to stop in again. We had a blast driving out over the flats, taking pictures and just taking in the view. It was only when we got ready to leave did we see a sign forbidding driving on the salt. Ooops.
