February 2015 Recap
Boyscouts and snow pretty much dominated February.
Luke started as a Tiger cub and has worked hard year after year. This month we spent a lot of time finishing up badges so he could get credit for them. The Arrow of Light, in the second photo, was made by the dad of one of the boys. Each colored stripe stands for that boy's achievement. As you can see, Luke worked hard! It felt like a graduation for me, too. Cub scouts rely heavily on parental involvement. The boys do certain activities with their den, but parents have to fill in a lot of gaps. Boy Scouts is different. The troops are largely boy-run (with adult supervision) and there are tons of activities and very little for the parents to do. He's thrilled to be a Scout and is excited about all the fun he's going to have this year; rock climbing, tons of camping, shooting, canoeing, etc, etc, etc.
We were also blessed to have one really good snow. I know many people here hate snow, but I think it's so nice to have at least one good snow storm. The boys had a blast!
The snow seemed to bring the wildlife out in abundance.

Progress on the addition was sloooow going. It was such a cold month, snowy, rainy month. March will be better!
