Not By My Strength Alone

Gabe just rushed into the room, all excited, to tell me that one of his favorite Bible stories is in his reading book. I asked him which one and what are his other favorite Bible stories. The Good Samaritan was the story in his book and his other favorites are David and Goliath, Joseph, Moses, and Jesus and the cross. Then he told me that Jesus and the cross was his very favorite and the most important. Then he paused for a second and said, "Isn't it funny how all the other stories lead up to Jesus and the cross?"

I was really humbled and grateful for the reminder that I'm not alone in this parenting journey. The Holy Spirit is with us. I'm thankful for the evidence of his presence in my kids and very, very thankful it's not all up to me!
