Homeschool Post 2/3/2014: Count of Monte Cristo Lapbooks
I've always loved the idea of lapbooks, but we've never done any until recently. I was inspired by the various lap books/unit studies on Confessions of a Homeschooler. I would buy the variety pack, but we've already read half of those books. I did purchase her composers series which we'll do over the summer. Love all her stuff and her prices are very reasonable!
I did my own lapbook for Charlotte's Web and had no problem finding plenty of coloring/info pages for it. The Count was harder and will be a much smaller lapbook! I created a "Main Characters" list on my own, which has been very helpful for keeping us straight on who's who.
We went ahead and watched the movie last night. It's PG13, but was fine for our boys. I love the movie better than the book, I think because it really puts the focus on God and not trying to take revenge on those who wrong us.

Edmond: Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes. You must look into that storm and shout as you did in Rome. Do your worst, for I will do mine! Then the fates will know you as we know you...
