Thanksgiving on GAPS
We survived!
I covered the turkey in prosciutto which was awesome. Will be doing that every year! I added the drippings to a quart of broth and reduced that down for gravy. The stuffing turned out kind of dry which was odd because I baked it for just a short time and then stuffed it in the bird...which was cooked in the crockpot. Flavor was pretty good though. This squash and apple casserole was pretty easy to convert to a GAPS recipe. I used ghee instead of butter and honey in place of sugar. It took a while to bake, but it was worth it!
I did let the boys each have a little non-diet dessert. I couldn't have anything because wheat and I don't get along, but I honestly didn't miss it much. I was plenty full as it was!
Now for Christmas...
