The First Cookie Platter of the Season

My Christmas "thing" has become my cookie platters. Every year, usually right after Thanksgiving, I start baking cookies and other treats and storing them in the freezer. As parties and get-togethers come our way, I simply throw together platters. It's simple, fun, and always gets rave reviews.

I usually include:

• Several varieties of cake balls


• White chocolate-covered Jo-Jo's (Trader Joe's peppermint sandwich cookies)


• Chocolate covered pretzel rods


• Decorated sugar cookies


• Peanut butter cookies


• A wide variety of whatever other kind of cookie I feel like making, chocolate chip, M&Ms, shortbread, dipped biscotti, etc
